Tooth preservation and microscopic endodontics
For complex root canal treatments and revisions, the dental microscope helps to identify and treat fine anatomical structures. The aim is to preserve your own tooth — whenever medically sensible — for as long as possible.
What happens during a root canal treatment?
- Diagnostics and planning
- We examine the tooth, evaluate the necessary X-rays and discuss findings, alternatives and prognosis.
- Anaesthesia and safe isolation
- The tooth is numbed locally and isolated from the mouth with a rubber dam.
- Cleaning under magnification
- The root canals are prepared, thoroughly rinsed and disinfected. The microscope supports the view of fine structures.
- Tight seal and stabilisation
- The canals are then filled and the tooth is given long-term stable restoration depending on the loss of substance.
